Types of Green Tea
There are far too many varieties of Green tea to choose from and, chances are, the best ones will not be found in your local grocery store. Try specialty stores or shopping on line if you want to experiment with Green teas. Here is a list of some of the most renowned Green tea varieties:

- Lung Ching (Dragon Well) - A bright green colored tea with a brisk flavor, Lung Ching is the preferred Green tea of afficianados.
- Sencha - The most popular of Japanese Green teas, Sencha is slightly sweet with a light astringent taste.
- Gunpowder - Rolled into small balls that resemble gunpowder, this Green tea stays fresh longer than other teas and has a fresh grassy taste.
- Macha - Typically used in traditional Japanese ceremonies, Macha is a finely ground tea with a light and sweet flavor.
- Jasmine - Jasmine is not a true Green tea. Instead it is a blend of Green tea and Jasmine flower blossoms with a fragrant aroma and refreshing taste.
- Genmaicha - Like Jasmine tea, Genmaicha is not a true Green Tea but, rather a blend of Sencha and toasted brown rice. When brewed Genmaicha has a delicious toasty flavor.
